Father fights for life after 'unprovoked' stabbing in front of two year old daughter

A father is fighting for his life after being stabbed in an "unprovoked" attack in front of his two-year-old daughter in the street.

It happened while the 31-year-old was loading the child into his car in the Blackley of Manchester on Sunday.

The attack happened within hours of another stabbing in nearby Beswick which left a man in his 20s dead.

Detective Inspector Mark Davis appealed for help from the public and said: "I know this incident has understandably caused some concern locally but I want to assure the public that we have a team of detectives working to find the person responsible."
