Phoenix Nights star Ted Robbins treated after fire at home

Phoenix Nights' star Ted Robbins has been treated for smoke inhalation after a tumble dryer burst into flames at his home.

The fire on Monday left several rooms "completely gutted" - but no one was seriously hurt.

Ted’s wife Judy said it was caused after the tumble dryer in the cellar at their house in Rossendale caught alight.

Two fire crews from Rawtenstall and one from Ramsbottom spent around two hours attending the incident.

Ted sent his personal thanks to the fire and rescue teams on Twitter.
