12 year old hit by car during police chase
A 12-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being knocked off his bike by a car that was being chased by police.
The boy was hit by a grey Ford Fiesta in Radcliffe at about 2.20pm on 8 April. He was taken to hospital where his condition is described as 'stable'.
It came after police began pursuing the Fiesta when it was spotted "driving erratically" as it left a petrol station on Bury Road.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of making off without payment for fuel, dangerous driving and failing to stop following a collision.
Chief Inspector Phil Spurgeon, of GMP’s Bury district, said: “We are extremely thankful that the boy’s condition is not believed to be life threatening and our thoughts are very much with him as he recovers with his family."
Anyone who saw a grey Ford Fiesta prior to the collision or who has any other information is asked to contact police.
