Man admits killing baby son in 'act of deliberate and unlawful violence'

A dad has admitting killing his four-month-old son by 'rigorously and violently' shaking him.

Samuel Gildea, 30, admitted the manslaughter of Alfie Gildea on the day a murder trial was due to start at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court.

The incident was described as an act of 'deliberate and unlawful violence'.

Gildea also admitted a charge of controlling or coercive behaviour from July 2017 to September last year; the victim being Alfie's mum.He's due to be sentenced later.
