Heartbroken cat owner calling for change in road accident law after pet was put to sleep without her
90,000 people have backed a change in the law to make sure cat owners are informed if their pet is killed or injured on the UK's roads.
It's after a campaign by a woman from Bury, who spent weeks searching for her pet cat Gizmo.
The cat had been injured in a traffic accident and had been put to sleep without Helena's knowledge.
Gizmo was microchipped, but unlike dogs, there is no legal obligation to scan found animals.
Helena Abrahams says she doesn't want other owners left "not knowing" what's happened to their pets.
