Public asked to help create Liverpool version of Monopoly

Liverpool has won the honour of being the next city to have it's own Monoply board.

The city faced stiff competition from Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham and Sheffield to land the new game.

The traditional tokens will be swapped in favour of Liverpool themed ones Credit: pa

Now members of the public will vote on possible Liverpool themed tokens.

Suggested ideas for tokens include:

  • A Liver Bird - or cormorant

  • A fun-sized ferry - or small submarine.

  • A replica of Britain's favourite racehorse, Aintree legend Red Rum
