A hero bus driver who saved a baby from choking and then carried on with the rest of his shift has been named by his proud colleagues.

Norman Ball, 65, was driving the 10B Arriva bus when a young child on board started choking.

Norman quickly stepped in to save the child by helping it cough up what was causing the blockage.

Witnesses described how Norman then ran into the nearby Alder Hey Children's Hospital with the baby in his arms before jumping back on the bus and carrying on with his route.

Alder Hey hospital are planning on presenting Norman with a certificate to recognise his efforts.
