Rare demo of David Bowie's Starman sells for £41,000
What's thought to be the first recording of the 1970s David Bowie classic 'Starman' has been sold at auction.
The demo tape was forgotten in a loft for decades. Bowie can also be heard telling his guitarist Mick Ronson that he has not finished singing the song when he tries to end the recording.
Ronson, who died in 1993, gave his friend, Kevin Hutchinson, the demo in 1971.But today it went under the hammer in Newton Le Willows.
Paul Crone spoke to Kelly the lucky buyer, who bid far higher than she'd planned.
