Police slapped with parking fine whilst attending violent incident
Greater Manchester police have responded to a video of a marked car being slapped with a parking ticket by a traffic warden.
The clip which went viral on social media was filmed outside Bar Rogue on Portland Street in Manchester at about 5.30pm on Tuesday.
The police car was parked in a city centre taxi rank but officers say it was either that or block a bus lane. There was a second police car parked up behind it.
Greater Manchester Police said it was important to put the video into context and said officers were attending reports of an assault in the city centre at the time. Whilst they were arresting a man, the police car was given a parking ticket.
The force say whilst one officer approached the parking warden to question the ticket, another officer was assaulted and received minor injuries.
