Norris Cole is returning to the cobbles of Corrie Street.

The announcement was made today on the ITV soap drama's Twitter feed, which showed an image of actor Malcolm Hebden on the set, with the message: ''Norris Cole - back where he belongs Welcome home Malcolm Hebden - see him on screen in April!''

Busybody Norris has been much missed on Britain's most famous street after taking a break for health reasons.

At the end of 2018, bosses confirmed he would return to the soap this year after taking a break to recover from a heart attack.

Norris was last seen on screen in December 2017 - his absence explained as a visit to friend Emily Bishop in Peru.

Malcolm Hebden, who's 78, praised staff at Blackpool Victoria Hospital for saving his life.
