A former police officer who was on duty during the Manchester Arena bombings is half way through his challenge to run twenty-two 10k races in memory of those killed.
Aaron Lee, who is now a firefighter, completed his 11th run in Clitheroe at the weekend.
He dedicated it to Georgina Callender:
"Having been heavily involved in working the night of the arena attack in my former role as a police officer I have decided that I wanted to do something to show all the families and all of the victims that we as the emergency services workers really care and want them to know how it affected us too and that we want to support them still and not just for that night.
I'm not a runner so i decided to do something that would be a huge challenge for me and push me to my limits which this is certainly doing.
Today's run for Georgina was emotional due to a number of factors but none more so than seeing the harrowing effect this has had on her family and friends who miss her terribly.
In the build up to this week I felt good and I felt strong and I wanted to mark the half way point (11 10k races) and the end of the year on a high.
I gave it my everything and I managed to get a personal best time today of 45 mins 50 secs something I've been chasing for weeks.
I'm going to have a couple of weeks rest now due to shifts before my next race in jan. And I want to say that the support from the public has been nothing short of inspiring it's really helped keep me focused and fired up ready to take on the next races. I can't thank them all enough.
This event although is aimed primarily as a mark of respect towards the 22 that were taken from us is very much in support of the thousands of victims that are still with us and suffer daily with the physical and psychological effects and my thoughts and support are with them all."
