BAE Systems: Almost half of new apprentices to be based in Lancashire
Manufacturing giant BAE Systems is to recruit almost 700 apprentices in 2019, half of which will be based at the firm's air sites in Samlesbury and Warton in Lancashire.
The new recruits will join the firm's air, land and maritime businesses and embark on one of 25 training programmes.
The number of apprentices is up by almost a third on last year and the trainees will work on projects including the Typhoon F-35.
