'We are determined to find out what happened': appeal after man's body found in marshland

Police are appealing for information after a man's body was found in marshland near Wigan.

Officers were called to Marsh Green on Sunday afternoon - the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Although he has not yet been formally identified, officers say they believe the body to be that of 35 year old John Peter Heyes.

A Post Mortem exam will take place today to try to establish cause of death.

Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with police, "however small or insignificant it might seem".
