"completely unroadworthy" car pulled over on M60, driver on drugs and uninsured
North West Motorway Police have shared a series of photographs on twitter of a Citroen caught driving on the M60 on one wheel rim.The red hatchback was not involved in an accident or collision, the male driver in his 20's simply 'entered the network thinking this is acceptable'.Passing motorists dialled 999 to report the driver, who was then arrested.Police said he provided a 'positive roadside sample in relation to drugs' and was also driving uninsured.The car was stopped between junctions 23 and 24, Ashton-under-Lyne and Denton. It it is not known how far the car had travelled but police said the first call came from a concerned motorist at junction 18, Simister Island.
The images show the Citroen with extensive bodywork damage.It's got no offside headlights at all and only one wing mirror.The nearside rear wheel is on its steel rim, which also appears to be bent and twisted out of shape.
