Forgotten hero's Victoria Cross returned to hometown
The Victoria Cross of one of Wigan's bravest soldiers has been returned to his hometown.
Private Thomas Woodcock received the medal for incredible bravery during the First World War's Batttle of Passchendaele.
Over time his story has become less well known, and he became regarded as a forgotten hero.
But that was never the case for his family who are proud to see his medal back in their home town.
