Man in life-threatening condition after being hit at railway station pelican crossing
A man is in a life-threatening condition after he was hit by a car whilst using a pelican crossing outside a Bolton railway station.
Police were called to Daisy Hill station at Westhoughton yesterday evening, at around 7.15pm.The man, in his 40s, was crossing the road at the crossing when he was hit by a black Ford Fiesta travelling towards Leigh. He sustained serious head injuries and remains in a critical condition in hospital.
An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been released under investigation.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and those who might have dashcam footage of the collision to come forward.
