The man who taught Claire Foy drama when she was a student has told ITV News he couldn't be more proud of her success - after she won best lead actress in a drama series at the most prestigious awards show in US television.

She won an Emmy for her portrayal of the Queen in Netflix’s The Crown.

She learned her craft during a degree in drama and screen studies at Liverpool's John Moores University - where her personal tutor said she always had the skill and grace needed to play a monarch.
