Storm Ali causing disruption across the Isle of Man
Winds of up to 69mph have been recorded on the Isle of Man during Storm Ali, with a Yellow Weather Warning in place until 10pm.
Road closures and falling debris have caused chaos across the island - notably the Palace Hotel on Douglas Promenade has had part of its felt roofing blown off.
An emergency road closure has been put in place on Parliament Sreet, Ramsey from Tower Street to Bourne Place as a precaution due to reports of debris falling from buildings - reviewed when conditions allow.
Mooragh Promenade between Hope Street and North Shore Road is also closed for safety reasons, due to slates falling into the road.
Ramsey Town Commissioners have asked people to avoid the area and use an alternative route.
A number of sailings and flights have been cancelled, with a risk of fallen trees, giving a further potential hazard on the roads.
In the south of the island a man was flown by helicopter from the Calf of Man to hospital, due to no access being available via boat to the Isle of Man mainland.
