Five men and two teenagers jailed after death of Moss Side teen
Five men and two teenage boys have been jailed after a teenager was stabbed to death in Moss Side.
On Tuesday 8 August 2017, police were called to reports of fighting on Crosshill Street in Moss Side.
When officers arrived they found 18-year-old Sait Mboob with stab wounds to his back, arms and he had sustained a single stab wound to his leg which had cut through an artery. He was pronounced dead in the early hours of the morning of Wednesday 9 August 2017 due to loss of blood.
Two 17-year-old boys and an 18-year-old man were also stabbed, and sustained serious injuries, but thankfully they were able to recover from their injuries.
Lequornne Morgan, 29, of Gregory’s Road, Manchester, has been jailed for 18 years after being found guilty of murder. He was also found guilty of three counts of grievous bodily harm and has received an 11 year prison sentence which will run concurrently.
Husam Ghazanfar, 29, of Delaheys Range, Gorton, Manchester, has been jailed for 18 years after being found guilty of murder. He was also found guilty of three counts of grievous bodily harm and has received an 11 year prison sentence which will run concurrently.
Laif Morgan, 23, of Paddock Street, Manchester, has been jailed for 19 years after being found guilty of murder. He was also found guilty of three counts of grievous bodily harm and has received an 11 year prison sentence which will run concurrently.
Requan Brown , 19, of Higher Ardwick, Manchester, has been jailed for 18 years after being found guilty of murder. He was also found guilty of three counts of grievous bodily harm and has received an 11 year prison sentence which will run concurrently.
Ryan Isaacs, 19, of no fixed abode, has been jailed for 18 years after being found guilty of murder. He was also found guilty of three counts of grievous bodily harm and has received an 11 year prison sentence which will run concurrently.
Shayne Stewart, 16, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after being found guilty of murder. He was also found guilty of three counts of grievous bodily harm and has received an seven year prison sentence which will run concurrently.
Kiahus Baddoo, 17, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after being found guilty of murder. He was also found guilty of three counts of grievous bodily harm and has received an seven year prison sentence which will run concurrently.
During the course of the trial at Manchester Crown Court, Crown Square, jurors heard how Sait and his friends were outside The New Welcome Store on Great Western Street in Moss Side when they were informed that known members of a local criminal gang were in the area and threatening violence.
Minutes later a blue Fiat 500 and a Silver Mercedes A Class drove at speed towards the group and the Fiat 500 hit Sait and the other victims.
Occupants of the cars jumped out and attacked the group with knives and machetes, delivering a lethal stab wound to Sait Mboob and leaving his friends with serious injuries.
