Police find cannabis farm with estimated street value of £400k
Police in Merseyside have found a cannabis farm with an estimated street value of £400,000.
Officers executed a warrant at an address in Rock Ferry and found around 100 plants.
A 40-year-old man from the Birkenhead area was arrested on suspicion of cannabis production.
"Criminal groups involved in the growing of cannabis are often involved in other serious organised crime and they often use residential house such as this, in the heart of our communities."
Police say the public can help prevent such criminal groups, who are "only interested in making money", from turning houses into potential death traps.
"Nobody wants to live or work next door to these places and we would ask that if you believe someone is using a property for this purpose, please tell us so we can take positive action and find those responsible for setting them up.”
