This is the moment a mother and baby narrowly avoid being hit by an out of control scrambler bike after a stunt goes wrong.

The footage was filmed on a dashcam as the biker drives quickly down Breeze Hill in Bootle, Merseyside, a 30mph zone, towards a pedestrian crossing.

Wearing only shorts and a dark hooded-top, the scrambler biker can be seen attempting to do a wheelie-style move with one leg on the saddle. However, he falls off and the bike then skids along the road, missing the mum and child by a few feet as they make it on to a pedestrian island and safety.

After his near-miss, the biker can be seen hobbling after his bike, jumping back on and riding off like nothing has happened.

Last November, Home Secretary Amber Rudd told senior police officers there will be changes to the pursuit laws which officers are currently restricted by, following concerns they are unable to chase thugs riding mopeds and scooters without helmets for fear of prosecution.
