The teammates of a local Superbike rider who died after a crash on the Isle of Man say they are "numb" with grief.

30 year old Dan Kneen, from Onchan, died from injuries sustained on the opening lap of a practice race for the isle's TT races in Church Town.

The manager of his team said he'd settled in superbly well, and had proved himself as a potential winner of the TT.

Dan joined the Tyco BMW team last year and colleagues say he "immediately" showed his talent for motocyling.

He claimed two podium finishes in the Ulster Grand Prix - and was expected to excel in the 2018 Isle of Man TT.

He'd set his personal best around the Mountain Circuit just the day before he died.

His father, Richard Kneen, thanked people for their support via Facebook:
