A baby wallaby found by its dead mother's side on the Isle of Man has passed away.

Jeremy the seven-month-old wallaby was being cared for at Jane Callow Veterinary Service in Ramsey, after a couple alerted them last month.

It's believed that Jeremy passed away due to a respiratory infection.

Ever since a pair of wallabies escaped their enclosure in Curraghs Wildlife Park in the 1960s, researchers believe there are over one-hundred living in the wild.

Orphaned wallabies can not be released back into the wild as they are not classed as an indigenous species.
