Three charged with offences relating to modern slavery in South Manchester
Two men and a woman have been charged with offences relating to modern slavery in South Manchester.
The people from Most, Czech Republic, have been charged in the Czech Republic as a result of a joint investigation by the Czech National Organised Crime Agency and Greater Manchester Police's Modern Slavery Coordination Unit.
Julius Rigo, 34, is charged with human trafficking, rape, extortion, making threats and bigamy.
Darina Rigova, 32, is charged with human trafficking and bigamy and Karel Adam, 46, is charged with human trafficking.
Greater Manchester Police discovered that between 2012 and 2016 15 people had been forced into labour and sexual exploitation against their will in Gorton and Levenshulme.
Officers believe that there are more victims in South Manchester during this time frame and are urging anyone with any information to come forward.
