Elections 2018: the North West heads to the polls
Voters are going to the polls in local elections across the region in Theresa May's biggest electoral test since she lost her government majority last year.
Seats on 25 councils up for grabs in the North West.
At the moment, Labour dominates local government in the region, with the Conservatives controlling Trafford, their flagship northern council.
Polls close at 10pm tonight.
