Masked men armed with chainsaw and machete raid bank in Manchester

An investigation's underway after a group of masked men wielding chainsaws and a machete raided a bank in Manchester.

They held up a cash delivery car which was visiting the bank at the time.

These images show the three individuals fleeing the Santander on Bolton Street in Ramsbottom on Tuesday April 3.

They escaped in a red Ford focus.

One man, who witnessed the robbery, told the Manchester Evening News he saw one man carrying what looked like a cash box to the car.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “At 7.50pm police received reports of an armed robbery on Bolton Street in Ramsbottom."

"Masked offenders with a machete and chainsaw have attacked a Securicor van and made off with cash from the van.”

No arrests have yet been made.
