Charlie Pope: thousands call for safety railings after teenager's canal death

More than 40,000 people have signed a petition calling for safety barriers to be put up along Manchester's canal network.

It comes after the death of 19 year old Charlie Pope, who went missing during a night out.

His body was found in the Rochdale Canal.

Manchester City Council is to meet with canal operators today to discuss how safety measures could be improved.
