Nail-biting footage shows a driver weaving through busy traffic on the wrong side of a dual carriageway during a police chase.

Christopher Wilson has been jailed for a year following the dangerous stunt on a busy road in Ashton, Greater Manchester.

Dash-cam footage shows the 23-year-old being followed along Park Parade before he goes through a red light.

He then crosses onto the other side of the road, dodging oncoming traffic.

Officers then follow him along Park Parade during the terrifying chase, which ended in a crash.

The Greater Manchester Police traffic team tweeted a video of the incident after Wilson was sentenced on Friday.

It said:

Wilson, 23, of West Bank in Audenshaw, was sentenced to 12 months in prison and has been banned from driving for two years at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Friday.

He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, using a vehicle without insurance, failure to stop after an accident, failure to report an accident and driving without a licence at an earlier hearing.
