Man arrested on suspicion of murder after woman's body found in Manchester flat
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman's body was found in a city centre flat in Manchester.
Police gained entry into the flats, known as Shush Apartments, after a 37-year-old man was arrested in the street earlier this morning.
Officers found the body of a woman inside a second-floor flat.
Superintendent Chris Hill, of GMP’s City of Manchester team, said: "We are currently working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding what has happened this morning and the woman’s death."
A 37-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody for questioning.
There are several road closures in place including Swan Street so people are being asked to avoid the area.
