The new Royal Liverpool Hospital building is unlikely to be finished before the end of the year following the collapse of the construction firm Carillion.

Talks are being held to get sub-contractors and former Carllion staff to continue the work and return to the site as soon as possible. It's understood some of these firms are also having financial problems because of the collapse of Carillion. The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust says delays mean the work will not be finished before 2019.
