Police in Liverpool have discovered a large cannabis farm worth around £1.3 million.

Officers were called to a house on Sandfield Road at around 6pm on Saturday evening.

They found 348 plants covering all three floors of the terraced house.

All plants and growing equipment were seized.

Sergeant Gary Sorrell from the CDT said: "This is a great result, showing the true scale of what some criminal groups are capable of.

Police say the cannabis farm posed a "huge fire risk" for neighbouring homes, as the growing equipment and wiring were not in a good condition.

Enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
