IoM female politicians resign days apart
Two of the Isle of Man's female political members have resigned from positions in the space of a few days.
Douglas East MHK Clare Bettison handed in her resignation from the Department of Health and Social Care at the end of last week, and Onchan MHK Julie Edge also handed in her Liberal Vannin resignation last Thursday.
Two DHSC political representatives have now stepped-down in the space of nine months, with Rob Callister MHK quitting in March citing conflicting opinions with Health and Social Care Minister Kate Beecroft MHK.
Bettison has refused to speak about why she's resigned but Edge claims Mrs Beecroft told her she was not allowed to ask questions in the House of Keys regarding the DHSC.
Mrs Beecroft and Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper are the only members of the Liberal Vannin party left in Tynwald, reducing representation by a third.
There has been no statement given by the DHSC Minister and Lib Vannin member Kate Beecroft due to illness.
