Frank Bruno has donated a signed golden glove worth £250 in a bid to help replace stolen cash from a poppy tin.

The tin was targeted by Nathan Beddow, 20, at the Dickens pub in Cleveleys, Lancs. Beddow was captured on CCTV placing the collection box down his trousers on November 3.

He was sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment yesterday at Blackpool Magistrates' Court. The sentence will run alongside a nine-month term handed down because he was on licence for another offence at the time of the theft.

Bench chairman Janet Lee told him:

Beddow was ordered to pay the Royal British Legion £70, and court costs of £185.
