Merseyside Police seize drugs and guns in planned firearms operation
Merseyside Police have arrested six men and recovered suspected drugs and guns in a firearms crack down in Norris Green.
Armed officers recovered the two firearms and bullets as part of the planned operation.
At around 8pm last night a car was stopped and searched on Lower House Lane, resulting in five men being detained.
During a search of one of the men, two bullets were recovered. A 21-year-old man from Prescot was arrested on suspicion of possession of ammunition.
A search warrant was subsequently carried out at an address on Carsington Road, resulting in the recovery of a pistol, a revolver, shotgun cartridges, suspected drugs and paraphernalia.
A 21-year-old man from Norris Green was arrested at the address on suspicion of possession of firearms, ammunition, and Class A and B drugs.
Both remain in custody for questioning by detectives.
The other occupants of the car were also suspected to be in possession of cannabis.
A 22-year old man from Warrington was issued with a warning for possession of cannabis, a 19-year-old man from Norris Green, a 23-year-old man from Croxteth, and a 22-year-old man from Bootle were issued with postal summons for suspected possession of cannabis.
