A group of green fingered volunteers from Didsbury in Manchester, achieved the highest accolade at the Britain in Bloom UK Awards last Friday.

Not only did the 240 strong group win gold, but they were also judged best in the category for their beautiful and inspiring displays.

The awards saw more than 3000 communities enter with 80 in the national finals.

The judges praised Didsbury’s blossoming business displays and Rushton Street planters, describing them as “an inspiring display that shows what can be achieved by residents to other Bloom groups across the UK”.
