Manchester gets brand new Christmas tree the size of a house
Manchester has a giant new Christmas tree the size of a house.
The 25ft Christmas tree is located just outside the centre’s entrance on Corporation Street, overlooking Exchange Square.
Working against the clock, Santa’s little helpers spent 40 hours over five nights to install the tree and the rest of Manchester Arndale’s brand-new Christmas decorations.
Featuring over 75,000 thousand individual LED lights, the golden decoration scheme for 2017 was inspired by the Manchester Worker Bee, with honeycomb-style decorations featured throughout the centre.
Manchester Arndale’s Centre Director, David Allinson, said:
Manchester Arndale’s Christmas lights will be officially switched on in line with the city’s illuminated decorations on November 4.
