A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in Newton Heath.
Yesterday detectives investigating the death of the man who was found on Ten Acres Lane on Tuesday arrested the 57-year-old man in the North Manchester area.
Just after midnight that night police also arrested a 60-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Both remain in custody for questioning.
The investigation team believe they have now managed to identity the deceased however formal ID is yet to take place.
