More commuter misery as rail strikes continue across the north west

Rail users are facing more misery today as train services are hit by more strikes.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union launched a three-day walkout on Arriva Rail North on Saturday, which led to the cancellation of more than half of services.

Union members on Merseyrail were on strike on Saturday and are taking more action today.

Merseyrail said it operated about a 20% service on Saturday, with a similar number expected today.
