Bishop of Liverpool welcomes calls for ban on conversion therapy for gay Christians
The Bishop of Liverpool has welcomed a Church of England motion calling for a ban on "unethical" conversion therapy for gay Christians.
Christian gay rights campaigner Jayne Ozanne's motion called on the church to endorse a statement branding the therapy "potentially harmful" with "no place in the modern world."
Rt Rev Paul Bayes said the vote sends out a strong message to the world that the Church of England does not see homosexuality as a crime or sickness.
