Golf ace wins dream ticket to the Open
Manchester golfer Adam Hodkinson will take on the best players on the planet after qualifying for this year's Open Championship.
Chorlton Golf Club's former assistant professional shot 6 under par at Hillside to book his place at Royal Birkdale.
Hodkinson, 28, played for England as a junior with former Masters champion Danny Willet but his career suffered a setback when he injured his arm.
"It’s a boyhood dream come true," he said.
"I’ve practiced hard all year, and I played some great golf at Hillside. I’m starting to hit my peak, and I’m determined to give a good account of myself at the Open."
