Kym Marsh gives moving speech as she scoops soap award
Kym Marsh won the best dramatic performance award for her emotional portrayal of Michelle Connor when she lost her baby son Ruairi at 23 weeks into her pregnancy.
An emotional Kym dedicated the award to her own late son Archie and said: “Thank you so much, this means so much to me.
There were three other awards for Coronation Street involving relative newcomers.
Elle Mulvaney who plays Tracey's daughter won an award for Best Young Performer. Her banter with her on screen Mum and her cheeky one liners have won her many fans.
Rob Mallard won best Newcomer. He's been thrust into the headlines by a series of sinister moves including pushing his screen father (Ken Barlow) downstairs.
And finally a well deserved award for making us smile. That goes to Dolly Rose Campbell who is usually seen alongside Chesney in the kebab shop.
