Fire devastates pub in Blackburn

A pub has been devastated by fire after a blaze broke out on Wednesday morning.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service say they were called to the Grill and Grain pub restaurant on Bolton Road just before midday.

The firefighting response included crews from Blackburn, Darwen, Bamber Bridge, Preston, Hyndburn and Burnley.

Firefighters even pumped water from the nearby Leeds Liverpool Canal to help extinguish the flames, while a specialist unit made sure that water sprayed on the fire did not then pollute the canal.
