Teenage boy has been stabbed in the back
The 14-year-old boy was discovered with a stab wound to his back on McLean Drive, in Irlam, Salford , at around 7pm on Wednesday.
He was taken to hospital in an ambulance where he is receiving treatment this morning.
A police spokesman described the boy’s injuries as serious, but are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police have launched an investigation and arrested a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of section 18 assault.
He remains in police custody for questioning.
Witnesses described seeing a large police presence on nearby Silver Street following the attack.

I grabbed a bandage and a towel and went out. He was sitting in a car when I got there. He was a bit pale but he was talking. He had quite a nasty wound on his back. Someone took the bandage and wrapped it round his waist.
Residents say a large gang of youths which had gathered on a nearby football pitch moved towards McLean Drive where the stabbing is said to have taken place.
Two ambulances and dozens of police cars were seen parked on the street.Greater Manchester Police are appealing for anyone with information or witnesses to come forward.
