Exploding boiled egg sparks full-scale emergency response
A full emergency response of police, ambulance and three fire engines was called in Stockport - after a boiled egg exploded.
The incident happened at a block of flats on Truro Avenue in Brinnington on Tuesday night.
The egg had been left boiling on the cooker and exploded when the pan ran dry, filling the flat with smoke.
A mum, dad and two children escaped but when the dad went back in to survey the damage his worried partner dialled 999.
Because she had said there was someone in the flat a full response, including fire engines from King Street, Offerton and Ashton stations, was sent.
Despite inhaling a small amount of smoke the dad declined any medical treatment and the family was able to go back inside. A small amount of damage was caused to the cooker.
