The family of a man who died after a collision in Withington has paid tribute to their “happy-go-lucky” son and brother.

Shortly before 10.15pm on Sunday February 12 a blue Vauxhall Corsa was driving along Mauldeth Road ploughed into two cyclists near to the junction of Wellington Road.

One of the cyclists – 24-year-old Harry Sievey - sadly died at the scene while another man in his 20s was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation was launched by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit and a 61-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed until March 27.

In tribute to Harry, his family said:

  • Officers continue to appeal for witnesses and urge anyone with any information to contact police.

  • Information can be passed on by calling the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
