Morecambe FC fans raised £1000 to pay manager Jim Bentley's FA fine for improper conduct.

Bentley was sent to the stands during the Shrimps' defeat to Cheltenham in December.With the club under financial constraints and operating under a transfer embargo, the fans had a whip round and raised the money to pay the fine and costs Bentley faced.

Bentley made more than 200 appearances for Morecambe before becoming manager.
