Mum gave birth on Christmas Day and four hours later was at home eating Christmas dinner
Little Evelyn Marie was born at Salford Royal Hospital’s Birthing Centre on Christmas Day weighing 7lb 10.5oz.
She was delivered at 12.23pm, and by 4pm was sitting with the rest of the family around the dinner table in Worsley.
Parents Jessica and Mike Powell said Evelyn, who will be named Eve for short, was greeted by a very excited older brother four-year-old Zac, and two-year-old sister Emmy.
Mike, 35, who works as an IT analyst, said Christmas dinner was cooked by Jessica’s parents while they were in hospital.
According to St Mary’s deputy head of midwifery Val Claire, the Manchester hospital alone welcomed 21 babies on December 25, with dozens more being born in Stockport, Salford, Bolton, Tameside and Oldham .
