The communities around Millom have raised over £12,000 in the last 5 months to fix the town square clock.

All of the money raised has been through donations and selling 'clock memberships'. The town square clock was built 137 years ago, but unfortunately stopped 15 years ago.

This New Year's Eve, Millom Clock Trust are inviting local people to come and see the clock switched on once more! Millom man John Tyson was chosen randomly on Christmas Eve to be the very person to switch it on again.

The restoration of the clock includes a new digital clock mechanism, restoring the old clock fixings, guilding the clock, illuminating and also making sure it chimes again.
