Scooter rider dies following a collision in Blackpool
Police are appealing for witnesses after a scooter rider died following a collision in Blackpool.
The collision happened at 7.15pm on Wednesday, December 21st when a Mercedes A Class was carrying out a U turn on Central Drive. As it was completing the manoeuvre it was involved in a collision with an Aprilia scooter. A Yiying scooter which was travelling with the Aprilia scooter left the scene after the collision.
Sadly the rider of the Aprilia scooter, who can be named as 29 year old Daniel Faber from Blackpool, suffered fatal injuries and was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital where he was sadly pronounced deceased.
The rider of the Yiying scooter, a 27 year old man from Blackpool, was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.
