The family of a Special Constable who died after hit by a lorry on a motorway in Bolton has paid tribute to her at the closure of the inquest into her death.
At around 3:30am on Monday July 4, police were called to junction 5 of the M61 motorway to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a HGV.
Officers attended and found a woman - formally identified as 23-year-old Samantha Derbyshire - who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Today’s inquest concluded that Samantha’s death was as result of a road traffic collision.
